Question from MFA Innocent…
Dear Miss Quote,
There’s this guy in my MFA,
=========
Oh, boy. Let me stop you right there. Girl, bye. There will always be that guy in your MFA. Just do what you have to do to take the high road. Or better yet, completely ignore him. Avoid eye contact. As soon as he says anything, anything at all, talk over him. Interrupt him. Dismiss him. Do everything in your power to erase him, his power, and his humanity.
And here’re some self-care tips (highly recommend doing all of them at the same time):
Sausages, green peppers and onions. In butter. Hot.
Korean day spas.
Meditation retreats that allow tequila.
The poetry of Sommer Browning.
Figurines made out of lint and body hair.
Naked ballet.
Refusing to get out of bed.
Disposable cameras.
Credit cards.
Innocent children.
Walking across the room to get a glass of water.
Fire.
Jennifer Aniston.
Rereading your own journal.
Moderate exercise.
You got this. I read in the bible: “not to worry, you’ll see everyone in the long journey to the middle.”
Love Eternally,
Miss Quote
